Job Description

​The Mission ​The mission of the Vice President / Director of Construction is to serve as the strategic visionary and operational powerhouse for our client's regional construction business unit. In this confidential leadership role, you will saturate and expand the company's footprint across Connecticut and New York, ensuring top-quality project delivery, driving sustainable business growth, and mentoring a high-performing team of Project Managers to achieve operational excellence. ​Scope of Impact ​
Executive Leadership & Strategy:
Provide overarching direction for all construction operations across CT and NY. Partner closely with executive leadership to establish and execute annual business goals, financial targets, and operational KPIs. ​
Operational & Lifecycle Mastery:
Oversee the full project lifecycle—from preconstruction and budgeting through to closeout and client handoff. Ensure all concurrent, large-scale projects meet or exceed profitability targets, rigorous safety standards, and strict schedule requirements. ​
Team Elevation & Mentorship:
Directly manage, mentor, and inspire a team of 6-7 Project Managers, cultivating a culture of deep accountability, safety, quality, and continuous improvement. ​
Market Expansion & Growth:
Develop and execute sharp business growth strategies to expand market share in commercial construction while supporting select high-end residential opportunities. Identify new partnerships and represent the company with total integrity. ​Profile of Excellence ​
Construction Leadership Mastery:
10+ years of progressive experience in construction management, with a minimum of 5 years spent in a dedicated senior leadership role. ​
Sector Expertise:
A proven, deep background in commercial construction (restoration, interiors, retail, office, institutional, or light industrial). Experience managing high-end residential projects is a highly valued plus. ​
Strategic & Financial Acumen:
A strategic thinker with a profound understanding of construction operations, project controls, resource allocation, forecasting, and full financial management. ​
Interpersonal & Relationship Strengths:
Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with a proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships. ​
Educational Foundation:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required (Master's degree preferred).
