Job Summary:
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of construction sites, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within scope, and according to quality standards. This role involves managing field staff, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety protocols, and monitoring project progress to maintain productivity and address any issues as they arise. The Superintendent serves as a key on-site leader, facilitating communication between field and office teams and maintaining client satisfaction. As a representative of CCC, you are responsible for the safety actions of yourself and others on an active CCC construction project. You have the right and responsibility to stop unsafe work and enforce safety protocol and safe practices.
Job Duties:
Supervise daily on-site operations, ensuring all work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to maintain project schedules and efficiently allocate resources. Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards on-site, conducting regular safety meetings and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, verify quality of work, and address any issues or deviations from plans. Collaborate with the Project Manager to resolve on-site challenges, manage project changes, and ensure the project remains within budget. Maintain accurate daily logs, project documentation, and progress reports, communicating updates to the Project Manager and clients as needed. Act as the main on-site point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and inspectors, fostering strong relationships and addressing any concerns promptly. Oversee material and equipment deliveries, ensuring timely arrival and verifying the accuracy and quality of shipments. Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and quality checks, to ensure smooth project turnover.
Qualifications:
Experience with K-12 Schools is a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in construction management or related fields preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction supervision, with a strong background in on-site operations. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, scheduling, and OSHA safety regulations. Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage field teams and coordinate with subcontractors and other stakeholders. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, effective decisions on-site. Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore) and familiarity with project scheduling tools. Physical stamina to navigate construction sites, lift materials, and work in various weather conditions.
Ergonomic Requirements:
Prolonged periods: standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds at a time. Must be able to work in extremely noisy areas, such as construction sites. Must be able to work in all types of weather.
