Electrical Contracting Company Position Title:
Preconstruction Manager Tiello has partnered with a highly successful Electrical Contractor in the Palm City, FL area that has the need for an Preconstruction Manager to oversee bidding mostly commercial, healthcare and government projects ranging from $125k-$145k (depending on experience)
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Preconstruction Manager to lead the planning, estimating, and preconstruction efforts for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing budgeting, conceptual estimating, value engineering, design coordination, bid strategy, and client interaction from project pursuit through turnover to operations. As well as oversee all of Estimating. The ideal candidate will have a strong electrical construction background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, engineers, vendors, and internal operations teams to ensure successful project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead all preconstruction and estimating activities for electrical construction projects Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and bid proposals Review plans, specifications, drawings, and project documents for accuracy and completeness Coordinate with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, and vendors during the preconstruction phase Develop scope sheets, clarifications, takeoffs, and pricing strategies Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives through value engineering Assist with project scheduling, manpower planning, procurement strategy, and logistics planning Manage bid deadlines, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, and proposal submissions Participate in design-assist and design-build project coordination meetings Support business development efforts and help maintain client relationships Collaborate with Project Managers and Operations teams during project handoff Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical cost information Ensure all estimates align with company standards, profitability goals, and market conditions
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in electrical construction estimating, preconstruction, or project management Strong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts Experience with conceptual estimating, budgeting, and value engineering Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, Bluebeam, McCormick, or similar platforms Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Experience working with design-build and negotiated projects preferred Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred but not required Field electrical experience is a plus
