Job Description

Substation Commissioning Supervisor Job Description We are seeking an experienced Substation Commissioning Supervisor to manage and execute renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage. This role involves overseeing commissioning, start-up, and operational turnover to ensure successful project delivery. This is an on-site position with daily per diem and monthly trips home. Sites are located anywhere in the US. (likely Texas, New Mexico, Arizona) Responsibilities Ensure commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adherence to safety policies. Coordinate and manage EPC contractor personnel, OEM startup personnel, third-party startup contractors, and on-site operations personnel. Ensure project reliability at operational turnover, minimizing lost time during initial operation. Ensure compliance with all project contractual documents, including Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables. Interface with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to meet project energization dates. Manage on-site commissioning personnel. Collaborate with designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Essential Skills 5 years of experience in on-site project support for renewable power generation project construction start-up and commissioning. 3 years of experience working for an EPC in renewable power generation project construction start-up. Ability to interact with engineering and construction personnel on technical, constructability, schedule, and cost issues. Knowledge of electrical construction and commissioning means and methods, including NEC and NFPA. Experience in SCADA integration and troubleshooting. Expertise in E&I controls and instrumentation installation, startup, and troubleshooting. Skills in protection and controls implementation and troubleshooting. Proficiency in drawing review quality control inspection. Competence in progress reporting. Computer skills in Outlook, PDF editing, Word, Excel, document control systems, and PowerPoint. Management of third parties, suppliers, and direct report team members. Understanding of scheduling and planning. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
