Transmission Construction Manager Pre-Construction Responsibilities Thoroughly review and understand: Contract documents Contractor Safety Plan (this governs how safety is managed) Partner with Safety if updates or corrections are needed Lead or participate in: Kickoff meeting (set clear expectations with the contractor) Site-specific orientation (hosted by contractor; NextEra attends) Become familiar with all project documentation: Permits, road use agreements, crossing agreements SWPPP, haul routes, drawings, materials, schedule QA/QC requirements and submittals Set expectations and lead the NextEra team: Site safety orientation & safety plan review Safety assessments / CILs (Unifier) Independent reporting (do not rely solely on contractor data) Documentation (include in weekly reports) QA/QC tracking (Unifier) Site photos Construction Responsibilities Build and maintain a strong working relationship with the contractor Stay actively engaged in all aspects of the project:

Safety:

Ensure a safe work environment

Quality:

Follow specifications and drawings closely (minimize rework)

Schedule:

Understand C1 and contractor P6 schedules

Progress Tracking:

Approve CSU and maintain accurate tracking spreadsheets

Environmental Compliance:

Monitor SWPPP and constraints

Coordination:

Stay involved in outages and crossings Reporting Expectations Collect independent data—do not rely solely on contractor reporting Ensure all reports are 100% accurate (shared up to executive leadership) Lead the team in gathering complete and accurate information Maintain proper documentation to support potential change order disputes Incomplete or inaccurate records could result in financial impact Maintain consistent communication with the PM All reports and trackers are due Fridays by 5:00 PM (project time) Managing Additional Resources Environmental Team Conducts third-party audits and provides expertise Helps ensure contractor environmental compliance Should not communicate directly with contractors (all communication goes through CM) ISC / Expeditor Manages material delivery schedules Assists with sourcing and expediting materials Safety Team Leverage for safety expertise and issue resolution Engage when contractors are not meeting safety expectations SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) Provide technical expertise (civil, structural, electrical, etc.) Support problem-solving as needed Land Agents Assist with landowner coordination and agreements Should not communicate directly with contractors (coordinate through CM) Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Juno Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
