Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our team and add immediate value! This is a position that is heavy on travel supporting our many Fortune 500 customers. An applicant would require a very strong knowledge of multiple construction trades to be able to train and develop crews and crew supervisors as needed.   • Manage and or assist in assigned projects from bid to invoice.
  • Project managers expected to be the subject matter experts on all things related to the project including, but not limited to; specifications, plans, construction documents, codes and so on.
  • Fill out necessary paperwork and expedite permits as required.
  • Partner with Project Manager and VP in recruitment, training, firing, promotions and providing employee work assignments.
  • Maximize profitability while keeping service quality high.
  • Organize, inventory, track and maintain all tools and assets associated with your categories. Implement procedures to avoid loss of any company assets.
  • Ensure all products needed to complete jobs are onsite. Acquire product at best possible value.
  • Be a support structure for crew supervisors and crew to ensure they have the highest possible likelihood of a successful program.
  • Determine needs and opportunity of each crew. Work with Project manager and VP to develop a game plan to address, implement, track and report progress to executive team.
  • Manage safety programs with assigned employees.
  • Responsible for site evaluations as needed. Must perform initial due diligent assessments of site and project scope.
  • Create, implement, track and report to executive's daily work schedule check-off. Hold supervisors accountable in partnership with executive team.
  • Make daily calls to management of all current projects list otherwise specified by Vice President and Project Manager
  • Ensure high quality customer perception of completed project. This typically will be by pre-walking site before customer representative and addressing any issues.
  • Provide high-quality updates with pictures from each crew daily. Determine opportunities or if project is behind schedule. Partner with VP on status of project and plan to address issues.
  • Work personally with crew on new projects or underperforming projects to ensure your ability to manage and make necessary changes to daily work scope.
  • Must be available whenever needed to provide assistance to our company executives, customers and crew. Update internal systems including task trackers, schedules and so on as directed.
  • Update and work customer sites and third-party sites as required.
  • Recruit, develop and train and manage subcontractors.
  • Work with other company mangers and executives to create new customers and expand services to existing customers
  • Walk and complete when directed handyman and Fix-It projects
  • Develop and communicate project schedules
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.
Critical Skills:
  • Possess a diverse and strong personal skills and abilities in multiple trades of construction.
  • Be the subject matter experts on all thing related to the project including, but not limited to; specifications, plans, construction documents, codes and so on.
  • Must be focused on building relationships with customers and customer representatives while consistently providing positive outlook even through stressful situations.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be able to provide high level of professional written and oral communication
  • Be able to accurately measure sites and complete take-offs
  • Strong working knowledge of construction terms, estimating, scheduling and skilled in reading and understand construction documents.
