Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to support the successful execution of civil construction projects, with a focus on underground utilities and site development . This role is ideal for a candidate looking to grow into a Project Manager position by gaining hands-on experience in project coordination, cost control, scheduling, and field operations . You will work closely with senior project managers, superintendents, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all specifications . Duties Assist in managing all phases of construction projects , from preconstruction through closeout Support development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow Assist in procurement processes , including issuing purchase orders and tracking materials Review project plans, specifications, and shop drawings for accuracy and scope alignment Perform quantity take-offs and assist with estimating support as needed Track and process submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), and change orders Monitor jobsite progress and maintain daily reports, documentation, and project logs Support invoice review, cost validation, and budget reconciliation Assist with permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance requirements Help identify and resolve project issues, risks, and scheduling conflicts Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control, and company procedures Maintain strong communication with clients, engineers, and internal stakeholders Requirements Basic knowledge of civil construction methods , particularly underground utilities and site development Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts Familiarity with construction management software such as Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, HeavyJob and other relevant tools. Strong understanding of project scheduling, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and contract documentation. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines. Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members, contractors, and clients Exposure to estimating, takeoffs, or cost control processes Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience) 1-3 years of experience in civil construction, project engineering, or field operations preferred Internship or field experience in heavy civil, utilities, or sitework is a strong plus Familiarity with
FDOT/DOT
standards and municipal construction requirements is preferred
