Job Description
Electrical SuperintendentPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead electrical construction activities on commercial and industrial projects. The Electrical Superintendent will oversee on-site electrical work, coordinate crews and subcontractors, ensure compliance with plans, specifications, safety regulations, and schedules, and maintain communication with project management and stakeholders to deliver high-quality installations on time and within budget.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and coordinate daily electrical construction activities, including installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
Plan, schedule, and assign work to electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors to meet project milestones and deadlines.
Interpret drawings, specifications, and engineering instructions to ensure installations comply with project requirements and codes.
Monitor quality of work and perform inspections to verify that materials and workmanship meet company and industry standards.
Enforce safety policies and OSHA regulations, conduct safety meetings, and ensure safe work practices across the site.
Collaborate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to resolve coordination issues and maintain project progress.
Track labor productivity, material usage, and equipment needs; report status, delays, and potential risks to project management.
Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback to crew members to develop skills and maintain high team performance.
Manage onsite change requests, document site conditions, and maintain daily reports, logs, and punch lists.
Coordinate testing, commissioning, and turnover activities, including handing over documentation, as-built drawings, and warranties to the client.
QualificationsMinimum 7 years of electrical construction experience with at least 3 years in a superintendent or lead role.
Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification preferred.
Proven experience managing electrical crews on commercial or industrial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and industry best practices.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on quality and safety.
Proficient in construction scheduling, basic project management, and reporting tools; familiarity with Procore, PlanGrid, or similar software is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and travel to project sites as needed.
Valid drivers license and ability to pass background and drug screening.
