Preconstruction Superintendent•
Electrical Lean Construction, Buyouts, and Prefabrication Focus Location:
St. Augustine, FL (Corporate)

Owen Electric Company Leading the Strategy Behind Successful Electrical Construction Owen Electric Company is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Superintendent
  • Electrical to lead field-driven preconstruction efforts with a strong emphasis on Lean Construction, strategic buyouts, and prefabrication integration.
This senior leadership role ensures projects are structured for maximum efficiency, minimal waste, and predictable execution. You will play a critical role in aligning estimating, operations, project management, VDC, and field leadership to develop execution strategies that support large-scale commercial, industrial, and hyperscale data center projects. This position directly influences how projects are built, before construction even begins.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    Lean Construction Leadership Champion Lean Construction principles across preconstruction and project startup Drive strategies that improve workflow efficiency, reduce waste, and increase field productivity
  • Prefabrication Strategy & Integration Lead prefabrication planning to maximize offsite assembly and improve field productivity Work closely with VDC/BIM, estimating, and prefab teams to identify prefabrication opportunities Help define prefab scope including conduit racks, assemblies, distribution skids, and electrical rooms Ensure prefab strategies align with project schedule, site logistics, and installation sequencing Support development of repeatable prefab standards and scalable prefab processes Improve labor efficiency, safety, and installation speed through prefabrication planning•Preconstruction & Buyout Leadership Assist in scope leveling, bid review, and subcontractor selection Ensure procurement strategies align with execution plans and project timelines Identify long-lead equipment risks and procurement priorities•Constructability & Execution Planning Review drawings, specifications, and BIM models to ensure efficient and constructible installation Identify execution risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies Develop manpower loading plans and sequencing strategies aligned with Lean and prefab initiatives Collaborate with VDC and estimating teams to optimize installation methods Support development of logistics plans, material flow, and installation strategies•Operational Readiness & Field Transition Ensure seamless transition from preconstruction into field execution Help establish execution standards aligned with company best practices Support large-scale project startup and operational readiness•Leadership & Collaboration Partner closely with Executive Leadership, Operations, Estimating, and Project Management Provide field-driven expertise during planning and preconstruction Mentor Superintendents and field leadership Support company-wide initiatives related to Lean Construction and Prefabrication•Qualifications 15+ years of electrical construction experience 5+ years in Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role Strong experience with preconstruction planning and buyouts Demonstrated experience implementing prefabrication strategies Working knowledge of Lean Construction principles Experience on large-scale commercial, industrial, or data center projects Strong understanding of construction software (ACC, Procore,etc) Strong understanding of electrical installation methods, sequencing, and constructability Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and BIM models
Preferred:
Experience supporting or working with prefab shops Experience with large commercial, data center and industrial construction Experience with pull planning, Last Planner System, or collaborative scheduling Experience working with major general contractors (DPR, Holder, Turner, JE Dunn, etc.)
Pay:
$45.00
