This is a direct-hire, field-based leadership position with responsibility for production, schedule, subcontractor coordination, safety, client relations, and daily field execution. The role suits a superintendent with genuine bridge construction experience, not general sitework or roadway support alone. Schedule Full-time, field-based on active FDOT bridge and heavy highway construction sites in the Saint Petersburg and Tampa Bay area. Day shift hours typical of heavy civil work; specific start times vary by project and phase. Compensation Competitive base salary with project bonus opportunity. What You'll Do You will manage and coordinate field operations on FDOT heavy highway and bridge projects, owning production, schedule, subcontractors, safety, client coordination, and daily field execution. Day to day, you will schedule and direct foremen, field crews, and subcontractors, lead field execution across bridge and heavy highway activities, establish production goals, and hold project teams accountable to them. The role carries significant coordination responsibility. You will work closely with project management, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and owners, and maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, inspectors, and public stakeholders. You will manage all construction activity in accordance with contract documents, drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and environmental regulations. You will also review project performance and recommend corrective action when schedule, cost, or production issues arise, and assist estimators and engineers with quantities, production tracking, and field input. A core part of the job is developing the field team: coaching, supervising, and training foremen and field employees, supporting On-the-Job Training requirements, and implementing company policies and procedures in the field.
