JOB TITLE
CONSTRUCTION
SUPERINTENDENT JOB SUMMARY
TO
SUPERVISE AND COMPLETE FIELD CONSTRUCTION WORK, SO AS TO ENSURE THE WORK SCOPE IS COMPLETED ON SCHEDULE, WITHIN BUDGET, AND TO THE QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP SPECIFIED.
Projects will include
COMMERCIAL, LIGHT INDUSTRIAL & RESIDENTIAL APPLICATIONS. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide leadership to all field personnel.
  • Gain an accurate understanding of the architect's/designer's intent, and be able to interpret the design and building specifications properly.
  • Organize the field personnel to ensure that they are performing as required.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and material vendors.
  • Receive and inventory material deliveries.
  • Supervise the subcontractors and ensure that they are punctual and that they perform their work in accordance with their Subcontract Agreements.
  • Schedule and coordinate building inspections.
  • Liaise with government inspectors to ensure required inspections are completed with satisfactory results.
  • Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained.
  • Record material costs for work completed.
  • Maintain as built plans (as required).
  • Coordinate with the office. Resolve disputes and facilitate necessary change orders.
  • Address safety concerns and report safety violations.
  • Physical requirements will include, but are not limited to the following: light demolition, assisting with framing layouts, rough carpentry, general repairs, touch-up, and punch.
SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS
  • Ability to supervise.
  • Ability to schedule and multitask.
  • Knowledge in building and construction.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to complete accurate material take-offs.
  • Ability to travel from time to time, as the need arises.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures.
