Job Description
Job Summary:
The Landscape Construction/Installation Field Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site activities related to landscape construction and installation projects. This role involves coordinating with project managers, supervising installation crews, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety on all job sites.Key Responsibilities:
Project Supervision:
Oversee daily field operations of landscape construction and installation projects. Ensure projects are completed according to design specifications, within budget, and on schedule. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.Crew Management:
Supervise and direct the work of installation crews, including foremen, technicians, and laborers. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient use of resources. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development to crew members.Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. Communicate project goals, deadlines, and any changes to the crew and other stakeholders. Resolve any on-site issues or conflicts that may arise.Quality Control:
Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure all work meets company standards and client expectations. Conduct final inspections and address any deficiencies or punch list items promptly. Ensure proper installation techniques and best practices are followed.Health and Safety:
Develop and enforce health and safety protocols on all job sites. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards. Address any safety concerns or incidents promptly and effectively.Resource Management:
Manage the use of materials, tools, and equipment on job sites. Ensure that all equipment is maintained and used safely and efficiently. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of daily operations, including work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered. Provide regular updates to the project manager and senior management on project status. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for project closeout.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Horticulture, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in landscape construction or installation management. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale landscape projects. Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and equipment. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Skills:
Strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and crews simultaneously. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in construction management software and tools. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices.Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) frequently. Ability to perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.Working Conditions:
Field-based role with frequent travel to job sites. Exposure to various weather conditions and outdoor environments. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to meet project deadlines.The Perks:
