Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized General Contractor to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This role is vital in ensuring that all aspects of construction are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. As a key leader on-site, you will coordinate teams, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with all safety and building regulations. Your expertise will drive project success, foster teamwork, and deliver exceptional results that meet client expectations. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and supervise all phases of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Oversee daily site operations, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications. Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Conduct regular inspections to verify construction quality, adherence to blueprints and schematics, and compliance with safety standards. Utilize construction management software such as Bluebeam for project documentation, drawing revisions, and communication. Review construction estimates and assist with cost control measures to stay within budget. Lead site meetings to communicate progress, address issues promptly, and coordinate activities among teams. Ensure proper use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and other construction machinery. Read blueprints accurately for framing, roofing, masonry, plumbing layouts, electrical schematics, and other technical drawings. Oversee specialized tasks such as concrete forming and finishing, stucco application, tile laying, glass installation, cabinet installation, drywall finishing (including plastering), caulking, trim carpentry, flooring installation, masonry work, welding repairs or fabrication projects. Maintain strict safety protocols on-site by conducting inspections and training staff on best practices for construction site safety. Coordinate with clients and project stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns throughout the project lifecycle. Experience Proven experience as a General Contractor or similar leadership role in the construction industry. Extensive knowledge of construction management principles including estimating techniques and project scheduling. Hands-on experience with blueprint reading across various disciplines such as electrical schematics and structural drawings. Demonstrated ability to operate or oversee heavy equipment operation safely on job sites. Familiarity with diverse construction trades including carpentry (frame carpentry), roofing (shingles or metal), masonry (brickwork or concrete), drywall (plastering), flooring (tile or hardwood), welding (metal fabrication), restoration projects, hardscape installation (patios or retaining walls), glass installation (windows or storefronts), cabinet fitting, door hanging procedures, painting techniques including specialty finishes like stucco or textured coatings. Knowledge of construction estimating software tools like Bluebeam for document management and project collaboration. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to construction sites in accordance with local laws. Ability to read technical schematics accurately for various systems including electrical wiring and plumbing layouts.
