Transportation Assistant Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees 2 nd Shift Transportation Operations

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Member will be responsible to deliver all site merchandise in a timely manner to ensure the stores maintain proper stock levels.

• Team Member will be responsible to deliver all site Guest Orders within 72 hours.
• Ensure sufficient trailers are available on site at all times to support Plants/Departments functions.
• Ensure sufficient Power Units are available on site at all times to deliver loaded trailers within aging parameters.
• Ensure proper number of Owner Operators are available on site.
• Ensure proper equipment and power units are available to support all Jobsite functions.
• Team Member will be responsible to maintain an accurate P&L statement.
• Team Member will be responsible for setting Transportation rates paid to all carriers while working within the guidelines set by the Distribution Center Operations Department. Rate increases will be reported to the Site Manager, Distribution Center Operations Advisor and General Manager of Distribution.
• Team member will approve all Payables related to the Transportation Department.
• Team Member will work with the Fleet Manager to ensure all Menard owned equipment is properly maintained and on the road at all times. Major breakdowns that take equipment out of service for more than 2 weeks will be reported on a weekly basis to the Site Manager, Eau Claire Fleet General Manager, General Manager of Distribution and Distribution Center Operations Advisor.
• Ensure proper training is complete for each team member.
• The Team Member will be responsible for monitoring all Transportation processes.
• The Team Member will monitor production KPI's and ensure standardized goals are met.
• Team Member will be responsible to make written request for additional equipment to support Site Transportation operations. Team Member will submit request with proper documentation to Site Manager, Distribution Center Operations Advisor and General Manager of Distribution for review.
• The Team Member will keep the Site Manager and Distribution Center Operation Personnel informed of all problems that affect efficient operations of the site
