Job Description
Position Summary The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the preconstruction phase for commercial construction projects. This role involves budgeting, estimating, value engineering, subcontractor coordination, and client collaboration to ensure projects are set up for successful execution. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, technical expertise, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of commercial construction practices. Key Responsibilities Lead preconstruction efforts from initial concept through project handoff to operations Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and conceptual pricing across multiple project types Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to develop accurate scopes and pricing Coordinate and manage subcontractor and supplier bidding processes Conduct value engineering and cost-saving analysis while maintaining project quality and intent Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams during design development Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies early in the process Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with project management teams Present estimates, budgets, and recommendations to internal stakeholders and clients Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client presentations Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and market conditions specific to Eastern Idaho Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong financial and analytical skills with attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development and training opportunities Work Environment Primarily office-based in Idaho Falls, ID, with occasional visits to project sites Collaborative, team-oriented environment with a focus on quality and client satisfaction How to Apply Please submit your resume and cover letter to eric@cscid.com
