We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee on-site operations for commercial and industrial projects, with a preference for candidates who have experience in cold storage and food & beverage facilities. The Superintendent will ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating subcontractors, managing daily site activities, and serving as the primary on-site leadership representative. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day site operations, coordinating subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and site personnel to maintain progress and quality. Implement and enforce safety programs and site-specific safety plans to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Monitor and manage project schedules; identify and resolve issues that may impact timelines, sequencing, or delivery milestones. Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks; address deficiencies and ensure workmanship meets project specifications. Coordinate logistics, deliveries, laydown areas, and material management, with special attention to cold chain and temperature-sensitive requirements on cold storage projects. Collaborate with project management, engineers, and clients to review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders and to communicate impacts to the schedule and budget. Maintain accurate daily reports, site diaries, manpower logs, and progress documentation for reporting and claims avoidance. Supervise and mentor field crews, enforce company standards, and support training to improve productivity and performance. Manage commissioning, start-up coordination, and turnover activities, ensuring all systems are tested and documented for handover. Respond to client and stakeholder inquiries on-site, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction throughout construction. Qualifications Minimum 7+ years of hands-on construction field experience, with at least 3 years in a superintendent or similar lead role. Proven experience in commercial and industrial construction; prior projects in cold storage, refrigerated facilities, or food & beverage processing environments strongly preferred. Thorough knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, quality control, safety regulations (OSHA), and site logistics. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; capable of coordinating multiple trades and resolving conflicts on-site. Experience managing temperature-controlled construction practices, thermal insulation, refrigeration coordinate, and hygienic requirements applicable to food & beverage facilities is a plus. Proficient with construction management software and scheduling tools (e.g., Procore, Prolog, MS Project) and comfortable maintaining daily reports. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, and relevant certification(s) preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, travel between sites, and perform physical duties associated with field supervision.
