Full Job Description About Us:
J&J Construction has been remodeling homes in the Chicagoland suburbs for over 30 years. We're a growing, family-oriented company looking to add a skilled, reliable Job Site Supervisor to our team. We specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodels, room additions, and custom home projects. This is a no-drama, no-smoking workplace where we value craftsmanship, responsibility, and teamwork. This is for full-time work in a permanent, year-round position. Workdays are Monday - Friday and occasional Saturdays with advance notice. Start time typically begins between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM. This role is approximately 80% field management and 20% hands-on work, making it ideal for someone who wants to bridge the gap between skilled trades and project leadership.
Your role:
Take charge of remodeling projects: demolition to final finish This job requires some physical work. You will perform : some job prep, backout work, some trim work, occasional minor plumbing and electrical work. Maintain organized, safe, and clean job sites Meet with subcontractors to discuss scope, answer questions, review their work and take photos, and act as the point of contact Meet with city inspectors when required and take action on any required corrections Solve issues that come up in the field Meet delivery drivers for material deliveries and ensure all required materials are on-site, proactively deal with missing or broken materials Keep the company work van, tools and job sites clean and organized Update management on daily job progress Lead final walkthroughs and punch lists Problem-solving is a key part of this job—you'll be expected to think on your feet and keep jobs moving forward.
What We're Looking For:
5 years of hands-on home remodeling experience with heavy experience in home additions, kitchens and bathrooms Proficiency in all major trades (especially in kitchen/bath renovations) English fluency required
Work Ethic:
On time, dependable, understands the importance of completing projects on time, and being respectful of homeowners' spaces
Physical Capability:
Able to lift up to 50 lbs
Skills:
Know how to use hand/power tools, read blueprints, and complete quality work
Problem-Solver:
Able to handle field issues and communicate clearly with office staff
Transportation:
Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record are required Software skills: Experience using construction project management software/apps, especially
Buildertrend Professionalism:
Clean-cut appearance, no smoking , ability to interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner Must be able to pass a background check and drug test in addition to having a clean driving record Must be able to provide references
