Job Description

Are you someone who thrives in a fast-paced, kid-filled environment where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy leading a team, planning engaging activities, and making a positive impact on children's lives? If so, we've got the perfect role for you! The Crystal Lake Park District is looking for an Extended Time Site Supervisor to lead our before/after school and summer camp programs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help create a safe, structured, and FUN environment for kids to learn, grow, and play.
School Year:
Monday-Friday:
6:00 am•8:45 am
Monday-Friday:
3:00 pm•6:15 pm
Summer Camp:
Monday-Friday:
8:00 am•4:00 pm What You'll Do Plan and lead engaging daily activities (arts, games, music, social skills, and more!) Supervise and support children in a safe, structured, and positive environment. Hire, train, schedule, and lead a team of site staff. Serve as a key connection between the Park District and school staff. Communicate with parents and ensure a great experience for families. Oversee daily operations, including sign-in/out procedures and safety protocols. Monitor participant behavior and handle incidents with professionalism and care. Coordinate snacks, supplies, and weekly program needs. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and DCFS standards. Lead field trips and ensure participant accountability and fun! What You Bring High school diploma (required) At least 1 year of experience in childcare, daycare, or before/after school programs. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills. Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure. A proactive mindset—you see what needs to be done and jump in! CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain). Comfort with basic computer programs (Word, Excel, Outlook). Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Valid driver's license and insurance Ability to work a flexible schedule (including occasional evenings/weekends). Physical & Work Environment This role keeps you moving!
You'll:
Be active—walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs). Work both indoors and outdoors. Engage in a lively, sometimes noisy, kid-centered environment.
