Superintendent Job Description The superintendent will ensure safety, understand solar, basic civil, and electrical codes, and act as the eyes and ears on-site, communicating effectively with clients and teams. Physical labor is not expected from the superintendent. A high level of communication is required with both the client and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with safety standards, with OSHA 10 required and OSHA 30 preferred. Understand and apply solar, basic civil, and electrical codes. Serve as the primary point of contact on-site, facilitating communication between clients and teams. Manage subcontractors effectively on-site. Utilize Construction Management Software, specifically Procore, to oversee projects. Essential Skills 2+ years of experience as a Superintendent, which could be from a contractor or a General Contractor. Experience in managing subcontractors on-site. Possession of OSHA 10 certification. Proficiency in Construction Management Software, especially Procore. Additional Skills & Qualifications OSHA 30 certification is preferred. Experience in project management and construction management. Local candidates preferred for on-site presence 5 days a week. Work Environment This role supports a 1‑MW solar field project in Illinois on a 5-6 month contract, with strong potential to transition into a broader commercial and industrial project portfolio. You'll work with a full‑service clean energy developer and EPC delivering solar, energy storage, EV charging, and grid‑adjacent projects nationwide. The environment is fast‑paced and growth‑oriented, offering highly transferable experience in one of the most stable and expanding sectors of construction—without the boom‑and‑bust cycles of traditional markets. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Des Plaines, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $49.00/hr.
