Today, IFN is one of the most active and leading Islamic centers in the Chicagoland area, specifically Lake County. IFN has been involved in interfaith dialogue with different religious groups including Christians and Jews to foster a better understanding between various ethnic groups. Overview Join our dynamic team as an Owner's Representative in Construction, where you will serve as the vital link between project owners, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of complex construction projects. $6000-$9000 based on experience.mn Position Summary The Owner's Representative serves as the on-site advocate and primary liaison for the Owner throughout the construction and close-out phases of the project. This role ensures that the project is executed in alignment with the Owner's goals for scope, quality, schedule, and cost. The Owner's Representative coordinates all project stakeholders — including architects, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies — to ensure compliance with design intent, contract documents, and applicable standards. Key Responsibilities Construction Phase Lead and conduct construction progress meetings with the general contractor, design team, and Owner. Coordinate trade contractors, ensuring seamless integration and communication among all trades. Assess and confirm that trade contractors' resources (labor, equipment, and materials) are adequate to meet project requirements. Expedite and manage shop drawings and submittals through timely review and approval processes. Monitor and control construction schedules, ensuring alignment with the project timeline and milestones. Process bulletins, field orders, and requests for information (RFIs) efficiently to minimize delays. Prepare and review cost estimates for proposed changes; evaluate the schedule and budget impact of such changes. Review and recommend approval of contractor payment applications. Inspect and monitor trade work for conformance with specifications, design intent, and quality standards. Maintain and enforce a consistent quality control program across all trades. Implement and oversee the project safety program, ensuring full compliance with OSHA and site-specific safety requirements. Manage materials and equipment logistics, assisting with procurement tracking and delivery coordination. Provide regular cost and schedule updates to the Owner and leadership team. Maintain detailed project logs, including change order requests and drawing logs. Document progress through regular progress reports and photographic updates. Coordinate all agency reviews, inspections, and approvals with authorities having jurisdiction. Assist the Owner with procurement of Owner-furnished materials and coordination with trades and suppliers. Support selection and management of Owner-related specialty contractors, including low-voltage, audio/visual, security, access control, and materials testing vendors. Ensure integration and coordination of Owner-related trades with the general contractor's work. Project Commissioning / Close-Out Phase Establish and manage procedures for substantial completion and turnover. Monitor and expedite punch list completion with contractors and consultants. Oversee the collection and verification of as-built drawings, operation and maintenance manuals, and related documentation. Coordinate and schedule training sessions for Owner's staff on system operation and maintenance. Manage all testing, acceptance, commissioning, and certification processes. Verify and archive all warranties, guarantees, and project records. Ensure timely completion of occupancy and permit requirements, securing the final Certificate of Occupancy and project acceptance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture. Minimum 8 years of experience in construction project management, owner's representation, or general contracting. Proven ability to lead large-scale commercial or institutional through construction and close-out. Thorough understanding of construction methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration. Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and permitting processes. Exceptional communication and coordination skills; capable of facilitating complex multi-stakeholder environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, and related construction management tools.
