$120,000 - $160,000Position OverviewMy client is a contractor specializing in construction in industrial & commercial settings. We are seeking a superintendent for MEP projects to lead field teams & help ensure high-quality service delivery to clients. This role involves coordinating with various parties in a construction setting, optimizing processes, and enhancing customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine project goals, evaluate team capabilities, assign work effectively, and provide ongoing performance feedback that supports growth and accountability.
Work collaboratively with the project team to meet schedule and budget targets, maintaining urgency while adapting to shifting priorities.
Review contract documents and turnover materials to plan means and methods, support the timely procurement of labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, and ensure alignment with the building cycle and owner/architect expectations.
Partner with Project Management to build, update, and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are consistently achieved.
Monitor and manage project costs-including labor, materials, general conditions, and tools and equipment - in close coordination with Project Management.
Communicate clearly and professionally with all project stakeholders; proactively address and resolve interpersonal conflicts.
Oversee subcontractor performance and enforce scope compliance in accordance with contract documents and project requirements.
Lead regular, effective progress meetings focused on milestone tracking, coordination needs, potential issues, and safety expectations.
Ensure quality control for both self-performed and subcontractor work, verifying compliance with project specifications and QA/QC standards; identify deficiencies and issue required documentation.
Produce accurate, timely field documentation including daily reports, short-interval schedules, material logs, extra-work records, drawing updates, timesheets, and quantity tracking.
Champion project safety by conducting toolbox talks, performing site and equipment inspections, and enforcing Corporate Safety Policies to achieve company safety goals.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, subcontractors, and other project partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Perform additional duties related to field operations and project supervision as assigned.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; an accredited
BA/BS/AS
degree may substitute for up to four years of experience.Minimum nine years of progressive field construction experience, including time as a tradesperson, foreperson, Assistant Superintendent, or similar role, with at least four years in a field supervisory position.
Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills gained through construction or engineering training and experience.
Proficiency in reading plans and specifications, with a comprehensive understanding of MEP systems and the broader construction industry.
Demonstrated ability to understand and manage project financials, including labor, cost tracking, and budget impacts.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Valid driver's license and an insurable motor vehicle record.
Proficiency with project management software (Procore preferred) and Microsoft Office, including the ability to interpret cost spreadsheets, aging reports, and labor productivity data.
Working knowledge of contract administration processes, including RFIs, Schedule of Values, monthly billings, and construction scheduling concepts (predecessors, successors, constraints, float, lags).Benefits
