Job Description

Construction Management Support- Seasonal 8am-5pm (May Vary) | Flexible Schedule Do you enjoy being on the move, supporting construction projects, and helping turn plans into real-world results? What You'll Do Gather data for field reconnaissance and verify plans against site conditions Track assets, perform construction material inventory, and collect GPS data Support construction teams with site prep, project completion, and follow-up Assist with inspections, reporting, and verification testing of installed materials and equipment Identify non-compliant work based on contract documents Complete City training modules What You Bring High school diploma with construction-related coursework Two years of construction experience preferred; equipment operation experience desired Eager to learn, hands-on, and detail-oriented Able to communicate clearly with engineers, contractors, and utility staff Knowledge & Skills Basic understanding of construction processes, materials, and project workflows Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and data Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and shift focus as priorities change Professionalism in interacting with staff, contractors, and the public Familiarity with GPS and field data collection a plus Why Work for the City of Fort Wayne Gain hands-on experience supporting utility construction projects while learning from experienced professionals and seeing projects come to life in your community.
