Full Job Description Job Title:
Construction Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a Construction Superintendent to support continued growth across Indiana. This role is predominantly field-based, with the individual being on-site 95% of the time. The Construction Superintendent will independently manage tenant improvement and small commercial projects, with potential to scale into larger projects based on performance. This position requires a superintendent with general contractor-style oversight, focusing on schedule, safety, sequencing, subcontractor coordination, documentation, and logistics. Responsibilities Run projects independently, providing field leadership and coordination. Create and maintain schedules using AutoDesk software and understand sequencing. Draft look-aheads and communicate upcoming constraints to subcontractors and project managers. Enforce jobsite safety practices and expectations. Manage logistics including deliveries, site access, and planning trade stacking. Coordinate, hold accountable, and resolve conflicts among subcontractors. Interpret blueprints to plan sequencing and identify issues early. Write professional emails, log items digitally, and track field updates, progress notes, and issues. Work closely with the project management team to escalate constraints and risks to keep projects on track. Essential Skills 2-5+ years of experience running jobs or large scopes with responsibility for scheduling and subcontractor coordination. Strong general contractor-style umbrella experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and translate plans into workable sequences. Capability to draft basic schedules from plans with sequencing knowledge. Comfortable leading and coordinating a job with approximately 10 trade partners/workers on-site. Technological competence and organizational skills for digital documentation and professional communication. Effective communication and conflict management skills on-site. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a major plus. Ground-up experience is considered a bonus. A college degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required. Experience coming from trades with broad sequencing exposure is advantageous. Work Environment This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and being on-site for extended hours, sometimes including weekends or evenings depending on the project schedule. The role involves being on site five days a week, both inside and outside, and working from a trailer. Gas expenses for travel beyond assigned projects are reimbursable, and there are quarterly events and outings. Benefits for full-time employment include 3 weeks of PTO, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) with a 4% company match, and allowances for vehicle and phone expenses. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
