Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility and Teamwork General Summary The Construction Manager's primary role is to plan and oversee the construction process of new stores and remodels as well as various other construction and maintenance projects from start to finish. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Collaborate with contractors, engineers and architects that are involved in projects. Select contractors and/or subcontractors for projects. Collaborate with internal ARG team members to facilitate the completion of store projects. Interact with cities and other governing bodies to facilitate the permit process. Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses. Prepare budget and cost estimates, along with work timetables for projects. Review projects in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. Ensure the construction process starts and ends on time and ensure daily and weekly deadlines are met. Draft floor layouts, fixture plans and minor construction needs in design software (AutoCAD or Revit). Provide specifications list for equipment, materials, and finish work. Responsible for resolutions of any delays, emergencies and problems that arise within projects. Ensure compliance with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements are met. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques are met. Provide regular updates on construction progress to internal ARG project team. Explain contracts and technical matters to others in a clear manner. Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion. Strong leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business environment. Knowledge and understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods. Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards. Proficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite of programs. Ability to plan and see the "big picture". Competent in conflict and crisis management. Excellent time and project management skills. Ability to communicate effectively. Outstanding negotiation, organizational and problem-solving skills. Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and climbing.
