Superintendent Senne Company is a well-established commercial and industrial contractor based in Topeka, Kansas. For decades, we have successfully delivered commercial construction, industrial millwright, metal fabrication, and specialty construction projects throughout Kansas and the surrounding region. We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team. This position is ideal for a construction professional who enjoys leading projects, building strong relationships, and taking ownership of successful project delivery. Candidates with experience working for larger contractors who are looking to return home to northeast Kansas and spend more time with family while continuing to manage meaningful projects are encouraged to apply. General Role Description:
The primary focus of the position is construction performance in the field, site operations & safety, and successful project delivery. The Superintendent will be responsible for managing large projects, or multiple smaller projects at a given time. The role will work closely with Senne management, Senne craft, design teams and project stakeholders, and require strong and effective communication with all parties. Most projects are located in northeast Kansas, allowing our employees to spend more time at home and less time traveling.
Primary Responsibilities:
Field operations on assigned project(s), including periodic reporting, progress meetings, project management software input, site logistics, housekeeping, and inspections. Oversee jobsite performance on assigned project(s), including subcontractor management, in- house craft management, workmanship and quality control, project kick-offs and project closeouts. Thorough understanding of the plans, specifications, clarifications, and submittals in order to direct and maximize quality and productivity. Facilitate and coordinate with project management on job-related matters. Manage construction projects from concept to completion. Manage and accelerate project schedules created by project management, coordinate with trades to meet or exceed schedules, and document schedule related issues and delays. Manage jobsite safety, mitigate risk, and adopt and incorporate Senne's Health Safety and Environmental Manual into the project. Provide leadership, integrity, and positive direction for the project team. Develop and maintain positive relations that result in long-term partnerships with clients, subcontractors, and design professionals.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience leading commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, education, or public construction projects. A reputation for professionalism, accountability, and strong relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and craft workers. The ability to independently manage project schedules, quality, safety, and field operations. Strong communication and leadership skills. Knowledge of the northeast Kansas construction market is preferred.
Experience and Educational Preferences:
Five years of relevant supervision experience. Previous construction field experience. Strong knowledge of the Construction process and the Topeka construction market. Strong written, oral and face to face communication skills. Working knowledge and experience with construction project management software.
