M-F GENERAL FUNCTION
Under the direction of the School Age Program Director / Coordinator the School Age Site Lead is responsible for the organization and management of day-to-day operations for Child Care Branch school age programs. The Site Lead guides, directs and supervises staff, volunteers and children to ensure the program operate within established parameters and program policies for youth engagement, supervision, program activities and KDHE regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Staff Development:
1. Develop and maintain personal relationships that inspire trust and support positive staff connection to the program, branch, and mission of the YMCA 2. Hold staff and volunteers accountable for following program procedures and policies 3. Assist and guide staff to support positive behavior management and staff child relationships 4. Provide on-going feedback and coaching for staff and volunteers and maintain documentation of both successes and areas for improvement 5. Participate and give feedback to the Program Director / Coordinator for staff annual performance reviews for all staff under your direct supervision 6. Report any issue or concerns immediately to your direct supervisor 7. Monitor staff attendance, document and report tardies and absences weekly to the program supervisor 8. Review and/or practice and/or monthly Risk Management topics with all front-line staff and share information presented at monthly staff meetings for those not in attendance.
Program Operations:
1. Planning, supervising, and implementing quality activity plans according to standards set by KDHE and YMCA and following prepared session packets and curriculum as directed 2. Prepare and post activity calendar, program schedule, food service menus, and staffing schedule monthly, make changes as they arise 3. Be actively engaged in the program activities throughout the session to build relationships with youth and be a role model for staff 4. Facilitate food service as directed and in compliance with KDHE/CACFP, including accurate timely documentation 5. Maintain accurate roster and communicate with Child Care Accounts any discrepancies as well as changes in children's attendance status 6. Ensure the organization, maintenance, and inventory of equipment, supplies and food storage in all areas used by the school age program. 7. Report all items in poor repair immediately and communicate supply needs in a timely manner or as scheduled for your team/department 8. Check the program email and voicemail daily at the beginning and end of each session, monitor and follow up on all communication within 24 hours 9. Review child files upon receipt to verify KDHE compliance and identify any medical, food or other condition that requires additional information; follow up with parents as needed 10. Responsible for medication administration, documentation, and maintaining accurate up to date medication forms 11. Apply program policies and procedures respectfully when responding to staff, parent, and participant situations 12. Respond quickly and effectively to accidents and incidents while following YMCA and KDHE reporting policies and submitting all required documentation within 24 hours 13. Plan, coordinate, and document monthly safety drills 14. Complete the "Site Checklist" each month and turn is as directed
Fiscal Management:
1. Maintain clean and organized storage of equipment and materials to prevent loss 2. Complete and submit monthly mileage and expense report by the 2nd of the following month 3. Monitor attendance and enrollment to ensure staffing ratios are always met, report fluctuation and staffing needs to your direct supervisor in a timely manner
Strong Community Campaign:
1. Providing leadership for assigned aspects of Strong Community Campaign, special events and other fund development to ensure fundraising goals are met 2. Engage and actively participate in annual campaign, including but not limited to solicitation of donations and facilitation of impact tours
Facilities Development:
1. Maintaining program area and equipment in an orderly, clean, and safe condition; reporting any irregularities to maintenance personnel, facility leadership and/or Program Director
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum age of 18 2. Must have High School diploma or equivalent 3. Must have a minimum of 3 months of experience providing care and supervision to school age children

Effectively respond to questions from employees, directors, parents, and other entities in a timely manner 5. Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner 6. General knowledge of child development and ability to plan and adapt activities for school age youth (5-12years of aga) with various interests and abilities
Physical/Mental Requirements:
1. Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear, and have visual acuity 2. Must possess mental alertness, problem solving and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment 3. Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, and the ability to work with all ages 4. Must always present a neat and professional appearance 5. Demonstrate emotional maturity and the ability to manage high stress and emergency situations
Job Requirements:
1. Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values 2. Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire 3. Complete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Health History, Site Orientation, and other mandatory trainings in accordance with Conditions of Employment 4. Learn and be able to communicate all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and or program site 5. Understand and abide by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association and per KDHE regulations for School Age Programs (SAP) 6. Work a full session schedule for latchkey programs and maintain consistent on-time attendance arriving at scheduled work site prior to the start of your shift 7. Ability to complete training hours outside of the regular work schedule; some evening and weekends required for training and staff meetings as assigned. 8. Other duties as assigned
