Job Title:
Construction Coordinator Job Description The Construction Coordinator oversees and implements building construction projects within a large industrial manufacturing environment. This role coordinates construction scheduling and communication, supports daily construction activities and RFIs, and serves as a key liaison between in-field construction teams and project management. The Construction Coordinator supervises construction activities in the field, helps manage estimates, schedules, materials, and purchase orders, and ensures that equipment delivery and installation meet all specifications and drawings. Responsibilities Implement building construction projects to support site operations within an industrial manufacturing environment. Coordinate construction scheduling and communication among internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors. Manage daily construction activities and provide RFI (Request for Information) support for multiple construction projects. Act as liaison between in-field construction teams and project management to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and quality. Assist with or manage estimates, construction schedules, materials, and purchase orders as required. Supervise construction activity in the field to ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to plan. Coordinate weekend and shutdown work plans with contractors, facilities, internal shops, project coordinators, and project engineers. Work closely with vendors and contractors to coordinate equipment delivery, installation, and related scheduling. Apply knowledge of general building construction methods to support planning, problem-solving, and field execution. Monitor equipment installation methods to confirm that installations meet all specifications, drawings, and quality standards. Coordinate RFIs and CCRs (Change/Construction Change Requests) and ensure timely resolution and communication. Review construction drawings and apply them effectively in the field to guide installation and construction activities. Manage construction schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, adjusting plans as needed to maintain progress. Ensure all construction activities follow safety standards and regulatory requirements, including OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with internal teams to secure alignment and buy-in on project plans and changes before execution. Essential Skills 10+ years of experience in industrial or commercial construction projects. Strong technical knowledge of construction means and methods. Proficiency in reviewing construction drawings and applying them in the field. Demonstrated ability to properly manage a construction schedule on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Experience with project management and construction coordination in industrial or automotive manufacturing environments. Knowledge of equipment installation processes in industrial or manufacturing settings. OSHA 30 certification. Strong understanding of safety practices and standards in construction environments. Ability to stand, stoop, and walk throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant for many hours of the day. Ability to ascend and descend stairs to roofs or equipment rooms throughout a large industrial manufacturing plant. Competency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Effective communication skills for coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal project stakeholders. Ability to supervise and direct construction activities in the field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associate degree in construction management is preferred. Experience with AutoCAD for reviewing and coordinating construction and equipment layouts. Experience with Bluebeam for drawing review, markups, and document control. Experience with Microsoft Project for schedule development and management. Experience in automotive manufacturing or industrial machinery projects is highly beneficial. Experience in construction management within large industrial facilities. Strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects and shutdown activities. Ability to work methodically and secure stakeholder buy-in before executing project changes. Work Environment The role is based in a large, methodical industrial manufacturing plant that emphasizes structured processes and alignment before project execution. The Construction Coordinator will spend significant time in the field, walking, standing, stooping, and climbing stairs to access roofs and equipment rooms across the facility. The position involves coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams, and requires comfort working around industrial machinery and active construction areas. The role includes approximately 30% travel to vendor locations for coordination and oversight. Workloads can be particularly heavy around major plant shutdown periods, including around the 4th of July and Christmas, when intensive construction and installation activities often occur. Standard business software such as Microsoft Office is used daily, and additional tools like AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project may be used for drawings and scheduling. Attire should be appropriate for an industrial construction environment, including any required personal protective equipment as dictated by site safety policies. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Georgetown, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $65.00/hr.
