Location:
201 Commerce Drive, Braintree, MA 02184 Summary The Project Manager at MARR Crane & Rigging serves in a dual role encompassing both sales and project management functions. This position is responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships, preparing detailed quotes and proposals, managing active projects, and ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and profitably. The Project Manager will act as the key point of contact for customers from the initial inquiry through project completion and billing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sales and Client Management Manage and grow an assigned client list or territory by maintaining relationships and developing new business opportunities. Identify new leads through site visits, trade connections, referrals, and industry networks. Conduct client meetings to discuss crane, rigging, and storage needs. Prepare and submit professional quotes and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs, ensuring clear scope definitions and pricing accuracy. Review and negotiate contract terms, scope, and pricing with clients; forward pending contracts for formal contract review at D Street. Project Planning and Execution Conduct jobsite visits to assess site conditions, access constraints, and potential hazards. Determine equipment requirements for each project. Develop and submit lift plans, rigging diagrams, and safety narratives, and other required documents as required by customers or site conditions. Coordinate all logistics including cranes, trucks, and accessory equipment to job sites. Schedule field crews and communicate job expectations, sequencing, and safety considerations to foremen and operators. Maintain close communication with field labor during active projects and be available for on-site troubleshooting or issue resolution. Ensure all permitting and coordination with local/state authorities is completed for applicable projects (e.g., police details, street occupancy, DOT permits). Administrative and Financial Responsibilities Generate and manage project documentation including work orders, JHAs, lift plans, and job-specific safety paperwork. Track and submit completed work orders, job numbers, and field paperwork for billing purposes. Review all open jobs monthly with the office to ensure accurate invoicing and identify any missed billings. Support the Accounts Receivable team by assisting with billing clarifications, change orders, or collection discussions when necessary. Monitor job costs and maintain profitability consistent with established company targets. Participate in end-of-month billing and job cost reviews with management. Technical and Software Requirements Prepare scaled drawings and lift plans using AutoCAD and/or 3D rendering software (training available). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Comfortable learning and using custom company software for quoting, scheduling, and project tracking. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and plans. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience in the construction or crane/rigging industry (more preferred). Prior experience in project management, estimating, or sales within construction strongly preferred. Knowledge of crane capacities, rigging methods, and site logistics a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. Customer-focused mindset and proven ability to maintain professional relationships. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Education Associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent field experience may be substituted for formal education. Additional Expectations Available for occasional after-hours or weekend coordination calls. Attend periodic internal meetings and safety training sessions. Attend industry functions and networking events (e.g., AGC, MBC, ABC) to enhance company presence.
