Occasional regional travel, typically 1-2 days per month Our client, a long-standing specialty construction contractor, is seeking a Commercial Project Manager to join their growing team in Braintree, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys managing complex commercial projects, working closely with General Contractors and Architects, and being part of a highly respected, family-run company with a strong reputation in the industry. The company has been in business for more than 100 years and is currently led by fourth-generation family ownership. They perform highly specialized work on large-scale commercial and institutional projects, including schools, universities, hospitals, airports, and similar facilities. Their work is largely reputation-driven and built on long-term relationships with General Contractors, Architects, and project partners. The team is looking for a Project Manager who is organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable serving as a key point of coordination between the field team, warehouse, vendors, clients, and internal leadership. About the Role The Project Manager will be responsible for managing commercial construction projects from planning through completion. This person will work closely with Superintendents, Estimators, General Contractors, Architects, vendors, and internal leadership to ensure projects are properly scheduled, supplied, documented, and delivered. This role is based full-time out of the company's Braintree, MA office . Most work is located in the Boston area, with occasional travel to surrounding states. The role will support multiple active projects, though larger projects may require more dedicated focus. This is a specialized area of construction, and the company does not expect candidates to know the trade immediately. They offer a slow, supportive onboarding process and understand that it takes time to learn their specific scope of work. Candidates with a strong commercial construction background, particularly from a General Contractor or specialty subcontractor environment, are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage commercial construction projects from award through closeout Serve as a primary point of contact between General Contractors, Architects, internal teams, and field leadership Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate jobsite needs and project schedules Review project documents, drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders Coordinate material ordering, deliveries, and vendor communication Help ensure materials are properly planned and available for upcoming work Support field teams by coordinating jobsite material requirements and daily/weekly project needs Monitor project schedules, milestones, and project progress Track and manage change orders, take-offs, project documentation, and related paperwork Communicate regularly with clients, field teams, warehouse staff, and company leadership Help identify and resolve issues before they impact schedule, cost, or quality Maintain strong relationships with General Contractors, Architects, and project stakeholders Support multiple projects at one time while keeping priorities organized and moving forward Ideal Candidate Background The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial construction projects such as schools, hospitals, airports, universities, hotels, grocery stores, or similar large-scale commercial and institutional projects.
