This role is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, managing field personnel and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Position Summary The Solar Construction Team Lead serves as the onsite leader for installation activities, coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, and project execution. The ideal candidate is a safety-focused leader with strong solar construction experience and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Manage, direct, and coordinate all onsite construction activities during solar installations. Supervise North American Renewables employees, temporary labor, and subcontractors. Train, mentor, motivate, and develop field team members. Foster a positive work environment that reflects company core values. Oversee employee and temporary worker daily timekeeping and attendance. Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Safety & Compliance Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on every project. Conduct daily toolbox talks, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews, and stretch-and-flex sessions. Ensure all work preparation procedures and safety documentation are completed before work begins. Monitor compliance with company safety standards and industry regulations. Project Execution Implement installation strategies developed during pre-construction planning. Coordinate daily construction activities to maintain project schedules and productivity goals. Lead daily and weekly field meetings to review project performance, installation plans, safety requirements, and project updates. Ensure proper use, maintenance, and security of company equipment and resources. Quality Control & Reporting Complete and maintain daily field reports documenting project progress, production, and site activities. Receive, inspect, document, and track all materials delivered to the job site. Perform daily QA/QC inspections of installed materials and workmanship. Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for shortages, quality concerns, damaged materials, or installation issues. Qualifications 3-5 years of solar installation experience required. 1-2 years of construction leadership or management experience preferred. Strong commitment to job site safety, quality, and operational efficiency. Proficient with computers and construction-related reporting tools. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and professional growth within the renewable energy industry. Certifications & Requirements OSHA 10 or 30 Certification required. Valid state-issued driver's license required. First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and muddy terrain.
