SUPERINTENDENT JOB DESCRIPTION ABOUT VOTZE BUTLER ASSOCIATES
Votze Butler Associates (VBA) is a Commercial Construction Management and General Contracting firm located in Lowell, Massachusetts. SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating all field operations in partnership with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to VBA\'s quality standards. At VBA, projects are highly collaborative, and the Superintendent plays a key leadership role in driving field execution while working closely with Project Management and Project Administration.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-Construction ? Prepare the job site for construction start, ensuring all safety procedures, documentation, and logistics are in place. ? Develop and communicate site-specific safety plans, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning. ? Coordinate with the Project Manager, client, and design team to align on project expectations, schedule, and site requirements. ? Participate in pre-construction meetings and establish site setup, logistics, and initial subcontractor coordination. Construction ? Lead and oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. ? Coordinate and manage subcontractors and vendors to maintain project schedule and quality standards. ? Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site at all times. ? Complete and maintain all required project documentation in Procore, including daily logs, safety inspections (daily and weekly), incident reports, RFIs, submittals, and field changes. ? Conduct regular site safety inspections and lead weekly toolbox talks. ? Communicate proactively with the Project Manager to ensure alignment on safety, cost, schedule, quality, and documentation. ? Represent VBA professionally in all interactions with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors. Post-Construction / Closeout ? Coordinate with the client and design team to develop and manage the project punch list. ? Oversee completion of all punch list items and ensure the project is fully ready for turnover. ? Coordinate client training on building systems as required. ? Complete subcontractor evaluations to support ongoing quality and performance standards. ? Participate in project closeout reviews, including lessons learned and client feedback.
REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience:
? Minimum 5 years of experience in construction industry ? Ability to manage multiple smaller projects or single project ranging between \$500K-\$5M. ? Experience working with and leading teams ? Travel required, with on-site visits to job sites daily.
Computer Skills:
? Extensive use of Procore is required ? Working knowledge of
Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project Certificates and Licenses:
? Massachusetts Construction Supervisor\'s License highly preferred ? OSHA 30 training provided ? First Aid Certification Active Filters Superintendent Lowell, MA Clear All Apply
