Roadmaster Bridges & Buildings will oversee the construction and maintenance of various projects as directed by the MBTA Commuter Rail System to ensure a safe and dependable environment for passenger operation. The projects include work on bridges, stations, culverts, as well as along the Right of Way.
Salary Range:
$89,622 - $108,296 Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of Department of Transportation & Federal Railroad Administration rules and regulations. Knowledge in train operations and safety requirements. Responsible for interpreting rules and regulations governing the railroad. Administer collective bargaining agreements through regular job. Experience Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent credential. Requires a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in all aspects of construction. Prefer trade school certifications, college degree, or equivalent work experience in Bridge and Building and/or construction. Requires a valid driver's license. Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external. Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities. Must have strong leadership and organizational skills. Prefer proficiency in MS Office applications. Prefer experience in the application of labor contracts. Key Accountabilities Demonstrate and adhere to the Keolis Commuter Services principles of: o Employee Engagement o Operational Excellent and Safety o Customer Satisfaction o Corporate Social Responsibility o Economic Performance Implement and monitor operational practices to ensure equipment reliability and quality service while ensuring a safe and production workplace. Administer and manage the Department's annual budget to meet financial targets. Analyze utilization of departmental workforce and facilities to continuously identify improvement in work practices and scheduling. Comply with and ensure staff compliance with all safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required. Supervise and oversee the activities of all assigned employees for compliance with applicable Federal, State, and company rules and regulations, andKCS/MBTA

Contract Agreement. Responsible for rules and regulations governing the railroad. Responsible for reviewing plans, forms and documents pertaining to bridges and stations. Responsible for quality assurance of work performed by Stimulus / Force Account Department employees. Responsible for scheduling and tacking projects from both construction and financial aspect. Must be flexible enough to cover special planned assignments as necessary. Must be available to respond to emergency calls in a 24/7 transportation environment. Identify training needs and assist in the formulation and implementation of programs as required. Administer collective bargaining agreements through regular job. Ensure compliance with KCS equal employment policies, safety rules, and operating rules. Other duties as assigned during emergencies. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
