Job Description

Star Community® has been serving adults with developmental disabilities in Washington County for over 50 years. Founded by Richard and Audrey Tebbs, Star began as the Anita Lynn Home in 1970 with the inspired vision to help each person supported to live a fulfilling life. Star is committed to ensuring that every adult, whether at a facility or in the community, is engaged in a meaningful day as they determine it, and each person has the opportunity to pursue a path to competitive integrated employment. Star offers a full range of services including: adult residential services provided in 11 homes to 50+ people; Employment and Meaningful Day Services for approximately 85 people; and Star's Equestrian Center and Therapeutic Farm serving 50+ children and adults weekly through therapeutic and recreational riding activities with disabled and abled riders. Come Join Our Team! The Support Team Coordinator provides direct supervision and leadership to DSP's. This leadership includes training and mentoring of staff as well as providing general oversight of support provided to individuals. This position is also a member of leadership and is responsible for ensuring that services provided align with individualized preferences.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. NADSP certified or willing to obtain certification. ACRE trained or willing to become trained. Experience in training and/or mentoring staff a must. Experience working with people with disabilities. Must possess a valid driver's license that meets the requirements of the insurance carrier. Must have the ability to lift, transfer and implement behavioral intervention techniques. Must maintain flexibility with competing priority throughout the day. This position requires the availability for flexible work schedules and on-call responsibilities. Demonstrated leadership ability as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks and functions in a fast-paced work environment. Must be able to speak and write proficiently in English.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Provide direct supervision and leadership to staff Train and mentor team members on individualized support Review and monitor data collection and attendance daily for accuracy and implementation strategies. Monitor authorization of services and communicate funding needs to assure appropriate delivery of services Attend PCP meetings and other team meetings as necessary. Complete weekly attendance for caseload per agency procedure on a timely manner. Rotate on call responsibilities to manage staff schedules, call outs, and PTO requests Implement disciplinary action for staff Monitor completion of individualized schedules to ensure scheduled activities align with individual preferences and funded services Provide feedback and educate DSP's on implementation of individualized schedules of those supported. Provide oversight and guidance on money management in regards to individual personal funds and planned activities Conduct quarterly performance reviews and provide feedback for staff development Provide oversight of property management including but not limited to, cleanliness of locations, conducting sight inspections and drills Complete monthly debit card reconciliation Treat people with dignity and respect and honor privacy when providing support. Ensure a positive, person-centered environment. Attend required staff meetings/trainings Will complete other duties as assigned.
