As we continue to expand our controls and building systems capabilities, we are seeking a Controls Account Manager who understands how to build relationships, identify opportunities, and help clients solve operational and facility challenges across commercial and mission-critical environments. Position Overview The Controls Account Manager is responsible for developing, pricing, managing, and pursuing new controls-related opportunities across commercial and industrial markets. This role works closely with clients, vendors, estimators, operations teams, and field leadership to support projects from opportunity identification through completion. This position is ideal for someone with a strong HVAC, mechanical, BAS, or controls background who understands how to navigate construction environments, build customer trust, and help grow long-term business relationships. The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, technically credible, highly organized, and comfortable operating in fast-paced construction and service environments. What You'll Do Business Development & Client Management
Identify, pursue, and help secure new controls and mechanical system opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, facility teams, general contractors, and industry partners.
Coordinate directly with clients regarding scheduling, project progress, contract execution, and completion.
Support long-term account growth through strong communication, responsiveness, and technical credibility.
Assist in expanding business opportunities across HVAC controls, BAS, electrical integration, fire alarm, and related building systems. Estimating & Project Support
Develop pricing and proposals for controls and mechanical-related opportunities.
Work closely with vendors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and support accurate estimates.
Assist with budgeting, scope reviews, and estimate development for new and existing clients.
Support operations and field teams throughout project execution as needed.
Coordinate internally with project management, service teams, purchasing, and field leadership. Operational & Market Support
Help identify new markets, customers, and strategic growth opportunities.
Provide technical and operational insight during project planning and execution.
Maintain awareness of industry trends, technologies, and customer needs.
Support multiple project types and delivery models across commercial construction and service environments. What We're Looking For
5-10+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, controls, BAS, or related commercial construction industries.
Previous experience in sales, account management, estimating, project coordination, or operations support.
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC and/or building automation systems.
Ability to build trust and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, field teams, and leadership.
Experience coordinating pricing, schedules, proposals, and customer communication.
Comfortable working in fast-paced construction and service environments.
Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Union experience or Local 602 background strongly preferred. Preferred Experience
