The Assistant Construction Project Manager will oversee and coordinate construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities include project planning, budget development and management, supervising construction activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations. The role involves working closely with stakeholders, contractors, and team members to deliver successful projects. Responsibilities
  • Project planning, project tracking, scope management, change control management, risk management, and quality assurance of the project team
  • Ensure projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements
  • Resolve project conflicts
  • Identify and recommend project management tools
  • Procurement of contractors and contracts
  • Review and comment on design documents and specifications
  • Analyze and estimate costs
  • Facilitate communication between architects, engineering, and contractors, clarifying expectations for information and service delivery
  • Review and provide input for development of project plans.
  • Manage construction plan(s) and maintain current project status records.
  • Report, track, and trouble-shoot exceptions and escalate, track and resolve conflicts regarding resource commitment and delivery of results
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
  • Conduct and document all weekly meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and consistent electronic files and documentation.
  • Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors. Validate and negotiate contractor change orders and make recommendations to the owner.
  • Visit project site at appropriate intervals and confirm progress is consistent with the project schedule and work is in general conformance with contract documents.
  • Prepare/update project status reports, process purchase orders and invoices, update tracking reports and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of all technology as required for assigned projects.
Qualifications Proven experience in Project Management and Construction Project Management Strong skills in Construction Management and Project Coordination Expertise in Budgeting and financial oversight for construction projects Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Proficient in relevant project management and construction software (MS Office, MS Project, Excel, Bluebeam, Procore and knowledge in various AutoCAD tools is a bonus but not a requirement). Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or relevant field (preferred) Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Michigan
