Full-Time, Regular About This Opportunity The General Superintendent leads and coordinates field operations across multiple Division 9 projects, with a focus on managing subcontracted trade partners. This role ensures all drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceiling, and finish scopes are executed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with contract requirements. Serving as the primary field leader, the General Superintendent drives performance, accountability, and coordination among subcontractors, vendors, and project teams to deliver high-quality, efficient project outcomes. Key Responsibilities Foster an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Lead and coordinate multiple subcontractors across active jobsites Establish clear expectations for scope, schedule, manpower, and quality Hold subcontractors accountable for performance, productivity, and contract compliance Conduct regular coordination meetings with subcontractors and field teams Evaluate subcontractor performance and provide feedback to Project Management Oversee field execution across multiple concurrent projects (commercial interiors) Perform routine jobsite visits to ensure alignment with project goals Support Superintendents or field leads in resolving site challenges Ensure proper staffing and sequencing across all assigned projects Partner with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules Identify and mitigate schedule conflicts between trades Promote a culture of safety across all subcontractors and jobsites Ensure subcontractor compliance with OSHA and company safety policies Participate in site safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident response Serve as the primary field contact for Rockford Interiors Attend jobsite meetings and represent the company professionally Resolve field conflicts and maintain strong working relationships with project stakeholders Requirements 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on interiors (Division 9) 2+ years in a Superintendent or senior field leadership role Proven experience managing subcontractor-driven projects Strong knowledge of drywall, framing, ceilings, and interior finishes Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Background with a specialty subcontractor (drywall/interiors contractor) OSHA 30 certification Experience with scheduling and field coordination tools (Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, Microsoft Office, etc) Strong network of subcontractor relationships in the regional market Benefits At Rockford, we believe that investing in our people is essential to our success. Environmental Factors and Working Conditions The work environment for this position is a typical office environment with occasional construction site visits. When in the office, the physical demands require the ability to sit for long periods of time. Intermittent movement, such as accessing centrally located office equipment, lifting of 35 lbs, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing, may be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Site visits may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn as required on project sites and in the warehouse.
