Job Description
Position Overview
As a Plumbing Superintendent, you will oversee and coordinate all on-site plumbing activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with contract documents and code requirements. This role is responsible for supervising field crews, coordinating with general contractors and project managers, enforcing safety standards, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
You will serve as the primary on-site plumbing leader, ensuring productivity, workmanship, and communication meet company and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day plumbing installation activities on commercial and/or industrial projects
Manage and lead on-site plumbing crews and subcontractors
Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating project schedules
Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades
Ensure all work complies with local codes, project specifications, and safety regulations
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture and safe work practices
Participate in weekly job site meetings and internal project coordination meetings
Identify and help resolve field issues to keep projects on track
Maintain quality control and productivity standards on site
Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial and/or industrial plumbing construction
Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role (Superintendent, Foreman, Lead)
Strong understanding of plumbing systems, drawings, and construction sequencing
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schedules
Excellent communication and team-leadership skills
Strong commitment to jobsite safety and quality workmanship
Preferred (not required):
Journeyman or Master Plumbing license
Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects
