Job Title:
Traveling Construction Superintendent Job Description The Traveling Field Superintendent plays a critical role in driving safety, quality, and efficiency across nationwide retail construction projects. This individual is a key member of the field leadership team and is responsible for overseeing project execution, managing subcontractors, and ensuring crews operate at a high level of performance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong field presence, real-time problem solving, and close collaboration with Project Managers and client stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Extensive travel is required, and overnight project support will be expected based on project needs. Responsibilities Oversee project execution and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Manage subcontractors and coordinate their efforts on site. Ensure high performance of crews through effective supervision. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and client stakeholders. Solve problems in real-time and make decisions in the field. Conduct client takeoffs and engage professionally with stakeholders. Plan, order, and execute projects based on detailed scopes of work. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in retail construction. 3+ years of supervisory or project management experience with completed projects. Strong knowledge of construction methods, standards, and best practices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project coordination tools. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing client takeoffs. Highly self-motivated with strong problem-solving and prioritization skills. Strong organizational, leadership, and presentation skills. Some carpentry experience and willingness to assist with installations as needed. Willingness to support overnight work (remote or onsite) depending on project needs. Work Environment This position requires anywhere from 25- 75% travel per month, depending on ongoing projects at the time. The role demands flexibility in working remotely or onsite, with a focus on maintaining a high standard of quality and safety in diverse environments. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Shakopee, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00
