Assistant Project Manager (Residential Construction)Girard Homes | Columbia, Missouri Build Beautiful Homes. Learn the Business. Grow Your Career. Girard Homes is one of Mid-Missouri's premier custom home builders, specializing in high-end custom homes and luxury residential construction. We are seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in residential construction management. You will work directly alongside our Project Managers and leadership team, learning every aspect of the homebuilding process while helping ensure our projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. What You'll Do As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support multiple custom home projects throughout various stages of construction.
Responsibilities include:
Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination Schedule subcontractors and suppliers Conduct jobsite visits and document progress Monitor construction schedules and help maintain timelines Communicate with homeowners regarding project updates Coordinate material deliveries and verify accuracy Assist with quality control inspections and punch lists Maintain project files, photos, and documentation Help track budgets, change orders, and invoices Coordinate permit inspections and municipal approvals Attend project meetings and record action items Support warranty and post-closing service requests as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Highly organized and detail-oriented Self-motivated with a strong work ethic Professional and confident when interacting with clients and subcontractors Comfortable working both in an office environment and on construction sites Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Eager to learn and grow within the construction industry Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field (preferred but not required) 1-3 years of construction, project coordination, or related experience Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to read construction plans is a plus Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience ($50,000 - $60,000) Performance-based bonus opportunities Vehicle allowance Paid time off Professional development and advancement opportunities Opportunity to grow into a Project Manager role Why Girard Homes?
