- you're not set doing one type About Our Client My client is a design build general contractor averaging $450M+ in annual revenue with projects spread across multiple sectors (senior living, multifamily, government, hospitality, healthcare, education, etc.
). They are looking to grow to about $650M in the next 5 years with growth plans implemented to achieve this. They are located in the Greater St. Louis area and have a solid backlog of work for 2026. Job Description Lead preconstruction efforts from concept through GMP and handoff to operations. Prepare detailed estimates, budgets, and conceptual pricing. Collaborate with owners, architects, and engineers during early design phases. Review drawings, specifications, and value‑engineering options. Manage bid packages, subcontractor outreach, and scope leveling. Analyze project risks, logistics, phasing, and constructability. Generate schedules and assist with cost‑loaded planning. Present budgets and recommendations to internal leadership and clients. Support project transitions from preconstruction to operations. The Successful Applicant 5-10+ years of experience in preconstruction or estimating within commercial construction. Strong background in ground‑up commercial, institutional, or mixed‑use projects. Skilled in conceptual estimating and early‑phase project planning. Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Sage, On‑Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam). Strong understanding of local subcontractor markets. Excellent communication, organization, and client‑facing skills. Able to manage multiple pursuits and deadlines simultaneously. Stable job history with proven precon leadership success.
