Job Description
This position provides AMS to customers by supervising airfield operations and airfield maintenance services to ensure effective and efficient airfield operations. The AAFM shall ensure the daily inspections and checks of the airfield; developing and maintaining the Airfield Driving Program; tracking airfield discrepancies, CE projects, and work orders; coordinating with civil engineers for airfield sweeping, lighting, and airfield grounds maintenance discrepancies; coordinating on installations security and hijack prevention plan; and attend meetings that impact airfield operations. The AAFM will coordinate directly with the civil engineering, safety and other airfield support agencies for airfield infrastructure and facility requirements to support aircraft operations. The AAFM shall participate with other base agencies to ensure an accurate airfield waiver program is maintained. The AAFM shall maintain copies of the MAJCOM approved airfield waiver packages. The AAFM will review, coordinate and maintain aircraft parking plans for compliance with planning and design criteria. The AAFM will also review airfield restriction data as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION STATEMENTS
Ensures the minimum daily inspections and checks of the airfield are conducted as required. Timely and effective coordination, as a minimum, with airfield support agencies such as civil engineering, safety, maintenance, transportation, command and control, air traffic control and emergency response agencies, is required in order to support aircraft operations and correct deficiencies on the airfield. Provide input, guidance and solutions at meetings concerning airfield facilities, air operations, and airfield construction projects. Advise the required activity on airfield conditions and deficiencies which impact, or potentially impact, flying operations at the base. Coordinate directly with civil engineering, safety and other airfield support agencies for airfield infrastructure and facility requirements to support aircraft operations. Participate with other base agencies to ensure an accurate airfield waiver program is maintained. Maintain copies of MAJCOM approved waiver packages. Review, coordinate, and maintain aircraft parking plans for compliance with planning and design criteria. Review airfield restriction data as required. Perform Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard (BASH))/Wildlife responses, RSC determinations, NOTAM determinations and review events logs. Serve on boards and other airfieldrelated forums and briefings as required.
Skills and Abilities Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required. Required to possess an AFM qualification and have at least three (3) years' experience executing DAFM duties and responsibilities outlined in
