Job Description
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect day-to-day field operations, supervise on-site personnel, and coordinate multiple subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient work execution.
Manage project schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and implement corrective actions to mitigate delays.
Enforce safety programs and regulatory compliance, including OSHA standards, site-specific safety plans, and federal contract requirements.
Oversee quality control and inspection processes to meet contract specifications, construction documents, and healthcare facility standards.
Coordinate with project management, design teams, facility owners, and inspectors to resolve technical issues, RFIs, submittals, and change orders promptly.
Implement infection control measures and ICRA protocols for hospital projects to protect patients and staff during construction.
Maintain project documentation, daily reports, logs, and as-built records; support invoicing and subcontractor performance documentation.
Manage on-site commissioning, turnover activities, and punch-list completion to ensure successful project closeout.
Mentor and develop field staff, promote teamwork, and maintain productive labor relationships.
Ensure adherence to federal contracting requirements including security, reporting, and contract clause compliance when applicable.
Qualifications10+ years of field construction experience with a minimum of 5 years as a Superintendent or similar leadership role.
Demonstrated experience on federal construction projects (VA, DoD, GSA, or other federal agencies) and in healthcare/hospital construction.
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, reading construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
Familiarity with infection control risk assessment (ICRA) procedures and hospital safety protocols.
Proven track record of managing project schedules, budgets, quality control, and subcontractor coordination.
Knowledge of federal contracting requirements, FAR/DFARS basics, and subcontract administration preferred.
Certifications such as OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid; project management or construction safety certifications are a plus.
Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam).Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
Valid drivers license and ability to pass site security/background checks; ability to travel to project sites as required.
