Job Description

Reveal Excavation is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Foreman to join our team in the Missoula area. We are a growing excavation contractor performing a wide variety of work, including road construction, underground utility installation, commercial site development, foundation excavation, grading, and building pad preparation. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, prioritize safety, and are committed to delivering high-quality results for our clients. This is a full-time hourly position that includes accrued Paid Time Off (PTO). Position Overview The Project Foreman is responsible for overseeing field operations on assigned projects from start to finish. This position requires strong leadership, organization, technical expertise, and the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, equipment, and project resources while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dependable, and capable of successfully managing projects with minimal supervision while fostering a productive and positive work environment. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass a criminal background check Minimum of five (5) years of heavy civil construction and equipment operating experience Proven ability to manage construction projects with varying levels of supervision Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in reading and interpreting civil construction plans, specifications, and grades Experience operating a wide variety of heavy construction equipment Extensive knowledge of: Foundation excavation Building pad preparation Site grading Water, sewer, and storm utility installation Road construction and earthwork operations Basic computer proficiency, including email, timekeeping, and project documentation Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to lead, train, and motivate crews Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to work flexible hours as project demands require Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude Experience utilizing GPS machine control and grade control systems (Topcon, Trimble, or similar) for excavation, grading, and utility construction projects Ability to interpret digital models, stakeout information, and GPS-generated site layouts to ensure accurate project execution Key Responsibilities Review project plans, specifications, and contract requirements Manage assigned projects from mobilization through completion Coordinate daily crew activities to maximize productivity, quality, and safety Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule impacts Perform jobsite quality control inspections and ensure work meets project specifications Track production quantities and maintain accurate records to support project forecasting and cost control Complete daily reports, job diaries, and employee timecards Monitor and coordinate subcontractor activities Assist in managing project budgets, labor costs, and equipment utilization Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Project Engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and clients Operate heavy equipment as needed to support project success Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve performance and build leadership within the organization Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations Identify and correct unsafe conditions, behaviors, and work practices Participate in project planning, scheduling, and coordination meetings Utilize GPS machine control and grade control systems to establish grades, verify project layout, and maintain production accuracy Coordinate with project management and survey personnel to ensure machine control models and project data are current and accurate Verify grades, elevations, and project tolerances using GPS equipment, laser levels, and conventional surveying methods as required Perform additional duties as assigned Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly Ability to work around heavy equipment, excavation operations, and active construction sites Job Type Full-time Hourly Benefits Full-time employees are eligible for the following benefits: Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Paid holidays Ability to commute/relocate
