Position Summary :
The Superintendent will supervise all subcontractors and work closely with the project manager on each job site.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Supervises subcontractors and provides a liaison between the architects, engineers, owner's representatives, inspectors, and trades to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications. Plans the work schedule, holds job site meetings, monitors manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements. Oversees work performance and productivity of trades to ensure the schedule, project rules, procedures, safety requirements, and inspections are maintained. Advises the project manager of potential problems, scheduling difficulties, and work interferences, and is proactive in circumventing/resolving such problems as required. Performs additional assignments per supervisor's direction, and some limited hands-on labor duties may occasionally be required.
Requirements:
Valid Driver's license is required. Must pass criminal background check and Pre-employment drug screening. Minimum 5 years commercial construction experience in a supervisory capacity required. Minimum 3 years healthcare construction experience required. Experience working with multiple healthcare systems preferred. Must be proficient in understanding and/or implementing healthcare specific requirements, such as
ICRA/PCRA
requirements and upkeep, patient safety and renovations in occupied healthcare settings, special systems, DHSR, etc. Previous renovation experience preferred. Working knowledge of various construction disciplines, scheduling, safety regulations, architectural/structural/PME drawings, and other documents. Basic computer skills required; construction software experience favored. Ability to supervise and evaluate subcontractor performance is essential. Must have a positive and cooperative attitude and excellent attendance.
