Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards. Oversee all subcontractors, field crews, and jobsite logistics from initial site mobilization through final turnover, maintaining a strict focus on production efficiency, brand compliance, and corporate client satisfaction. What You'll Do Lead day-to-day field operations for ground-up grocery retail developments from initial groundbreaking and sitework through final structural closeout and turnover. Direct and schedule all on-site subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to maintain optimal production momentum and strict construction sequencing. Coordinate highly specialized grocery scopes, including complex MEP coordination, commercial refrigeration rough-ins, walk-in coolers/freezers, and deli, bakery, and specialty grocery utility requirements. Manage site logistics and tight timelines for owner-furnished contractor-installed (OFCI) equipment, grocery fixture packages, and interior corporate decor. Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, architects, inspectors, and corporate client representatives to resolve field challenges and ensure strict compliance with precise brand guidelines. Enforce a strict safety culture on-site, ensuring 100% compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company-wide safety policies. Monitor productivity and cost controls, accurately updating daily progress reports and look-ahead schedules to eliminate delays that could impact critical corporate grand opening dates. Oversee successful project handoffs, including final municipal inspections, punch list execution, and certificate of occupancy procurement. What We're Looking For Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Lead Construction Superintendent focusing specifically on ground-up large-format grocery and major retail builds. Proven track record of successfully taking multiple ground-up Publix grocery store builds from raw excavation and site development through final turnover. Strong understanding of grocery retail construction specifications, finish quality standards, fixture phasing requirements, building envelope systems, and Publix brand compliance expectations. Strong leadership and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage large subcontractor trades, maintain schedule pressure, and handle complex site dynamics in a fast-paced environment. Solid familiarity with safety protocols; OSHA 10 or 30-Hour certification is preferred. 100% willingness to travel extensively throughout the Southeastern United States on a project-by-project basis.
