Job Description:
The Procore System Manager leads, directs, and oversees all aspects of Procore administration for Barnhill's Building and Civil operations. This role spearheads platform implementation configures workflows to streamline project management, and trains staff to ensure practical, effective use of the system across field and office teams. As the organizational expert and primary point of contact for Procore, this role ensures the platform is fully leveraged to improve communication, strengthen consistency, reduce administrative burden, and enhance overall project efficiency. The Procore System Manager provides hands‑on technical support, practical training, and clear guidance to project teams and trade partners. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong communication skills and technical problem‑solving ability, capable of driving major process and technology initiatives tied to the Procore platform. The Procore System Manager takes proactive action to ensure project goals, operational objectives, and company initiatives are met in alignment with Barnhill's mission, vision, and values.
Essential Functions:
Platform Ownership & Governance:
Administer and govern the Procore platform, ensuring adoption and companywide standards. Maintain cost structures, templates, workflows, and permissions in line with IT and accounting requirements. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and manage updates. Project Setup & Operational Support (Civil Focus): Lead project setup and configuration, ensuring correct structures and alignment with unit-price workflows. Support onboarding and initiation for project teams, standardize bid tabulation and document control. Monitor tool adoption and resolve field issues promptly.
Reporting, Analytics & Data Quality:
Develop dashboards and reports using Procore Analytics, native Procore reporting, and Power BI. Standardize field and office data capture across forms, inspections, quantities, photos, and financial tools. Track KPIs related to adoption, timeliness, completeness, and issue resolution. Analyze usage patterns and identify gaps to inform workflow, SOP, and training improvements.
Training, Enablement & SOP Governance:
Lead onboarding and role‑based training for office and field personnel. Develop and maintain practical training materials (SOPs, quick reference guides, checklists, and how‑to resources). Provide end user Procore support, ensuring users receive timely and accurate guidance. Serve as the primary liaison with Procore Support, Customer Success, and Marketplace vendors. Cross‑
Functional Collaboration & Integration:
Partner with Accounting to align Procore Financials with ERP processes and prevent data inconsistencies. Collaborate with IT on integrations, APIs, permissions, and data structure management. Coordinate third‑party technology usage (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, DocuSign) to ensure data integrity and consistent workflows. Serve as a conduit for field feedback to inform system configuration and process improvements.
Continuous Improvement & Technology Expansion:
Track Procore releases, enhancements, and beta opportunities. Test new features in sandbox environments and lead structured rollouts supported by clear communication. Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce administrative burden, especially for field teams. Evaluate and recommend new Procore modules and integrated construction technologies.
Education Level:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline preferred. Equivalent construction operations or construction technology experience considered.
Work Experience:
3-5+ years of experience administering or supporting Procore or similar construction management platforms. Experience in civil construction (heavy highway, grading, paving) or general contracting managing complex projects strongly preferred. Background in construction project management, operations, or system administration.
Required License or Certification:
NC Driver License Procore Certification (Admin or Project Manager) required within 90 days of hire. Daily commitment to Barnhill's values: Commitment

Technical Skills:
Advanced Procore configuration skills (permissions, workflows, company/project administration). Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Bluebeam and DocuSign.
Preferred:
HCSS HeavyBid/HeavyJob, scheduling tools (P6/MS Project), Procore Analytics, Power BI, and ERP integrations.
Behavioral Competencies:
Clear, empathetic communicator who supports field and office teams effectively. Strong trainer skilled in simplifying complex processes. Process‑oriented mindset focused on quality, consistency, and practical change management. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, field‑driven construction environment. Demonstrated alignment with Barnhill's values‑based leadership culture.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in both office and active construction field environments, including exposure to dust and varying weather. Willingness to travel to project sites across North Carolina. Occasional work outside normal business hours to support project needs or system updates.
