Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Superintendent / Foreman to lead field operations on heavy civil and bridge construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing crews, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality and safety compliance, and driving productivity in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Champion and enforce a safety-first culture on all job sites Supervise, train, and develop field personnel Maintain clear and effective communication with crews, Project Engineers, Safety Managers, and clients Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily construction activities Ensure projects stay on schedule by coordinating subcontractors, crews, and material deliveries Interpret and enforce project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements Assist with project planning, including manpower, materials, equipment, and scheduling Track production and ensure adherence to budget and cost-control measures Identify and proactively resolve jobsite issues, conflicts, and delays Lead crews by setting expectations, delegating responsibilities, and maintaining high-quality standards Ensure all work complies with company policies, procedures, and industry standards Perform additional duties as needed Qualifications Minimum 10 years of experience as a Foreman or Supervisor in highway/heavy civil construction Extensive knowledge of: Bridge construction Structural concrete Forming, placing, and finishing concrete Strong understanding of project scheduling, planning, and cost control Proven ability to manage crews of 10+ personnel Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies Self-motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment Valid Driver's License required Working Conditions Outdoor construction site environment Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting Exposure to noise, weather, and typical jobsite conditions Equal Opportunity Employer Hoopers Grading Co. is an equal opportunity employer and values a diverse workforce.
