Job Description

Job Summary:
The Electrical Superintendent is assigned to the field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within the Electrical discipline. Supervises and directs professional activities, subordinate superintendents, and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance comply with specifications and within schedules and budget. The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the planning and execution of all Electrical work performed by ION Field Services. Travel is required to different sites and states.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises and directs professional activities, subordinate superintendents, General Foreman and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors' performance are in compliance with ION Feld Services, federal, and state requirements. Schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within multiple areas and / or subordinate superintendents, General Foreman within the various areas of work. Coordinates and directs multi-discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts and superintendents of a single discipline covering multiple areas of the project. Plans and coordinates the installation of temporary and permanent power. Supervises installation of above ground raceways and supports, underground raceway, cable installation, cable and wire terminations, instrumentation, electrical equipment, medium and high voltage equipment. Performs effective planning of all work activities to ensure optimum performance and productivity of direct hire construction work performed on the project. Coordinates subcontractor work activities and interfaces on the project when required. Interfaces with HR department for craft recruitment and training programs. Optimizes the use of construction equipment and tools on the project. Oversees preventive maintenance programs to maintain optimal equipment and tool functions. Provides constructability suggestions, input, and feedback. Provides leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs on the project which includes conducting safety orientation of new employees. Inspecting the site for unsafe conditions and practices. Taking appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems, leading daily/weekly. Ensures that all State and Federal safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with assigned area of responsibility.
Required Skills/Abilities :
Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge and experience including a commitment to a Safety and Quality Culture. Experience in safety management. Knowledge of Construction Quality Assurance. Knowledge of single or multi discipline construction or engineering operations. Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office products. Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills. Acts with honesty and integrity. Ability to interact professionally and effectively with senior management. Ability to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, use tact and diplomacy, and possess a customer service focus. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Manage multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy. Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment. Demonstrate attention to detail
Education and Experience :
Related experience includes but is not limited to electrical field engineering; supervision of construction direct hire craft and construction related technical training. Basic Craft Professional and/or Staff Professional supervision experience with a strong electrical background. Experience in Construction Project Planning and Scheduling. Familiarity with current industry quality standards. Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and technical database applications. Experience with lock-out/tag-out requirements and processes Associates or Technical degree in related field required. Electrical license in various states preferred. 5 plus years electrical supervisory experience required. 5 years industrial electrical experience required. Microsoft Project experience required. Knowledge of National Electrical Code required. Instrumentation installs and operation experience preferred. AutoCAD experience preferred.
Work Schedule:
60 Hours a week.
Licenses and Certifications:
Associates or Technical degree in related field required. Electrical Journeyman license required.
OSHA Physical Requirements:
The ability to left 50lbs. May be exposed to loud noises, wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme hot and cold depending on weather conditions.
Travel :
Travel will be required. MT, ND UT and other states as assigned Benefits Medical
