Construction Manager

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead complex utility and infrastructure projects from planning through completion. This role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in both field and office environments and is passionate about delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and execute projects in logical phases to meet budgetary requirements, timelines, and quality expectations. Collaborate closely with Foremen to determine labor, equipment, and material needs through detailed estimate reviews and ongoing project discussions. Oversee day-to-day project execution through regular site inspections, ensuring full compliance with safety standards and company policies. Interpret, understand, and effectively communicate contract requirements, including subcontractor, vendor, and union agreements. Develop, manage, and monitor Schedules of Values for company and subcontractor work, ensuring billing accurately reflects completed work. Track project manpower, production units, and productivity to validate billable quantities and optimize performance. Review and thoroughly understand project drawings, specifications, and scope requirements. Monitor budgets and job costs closely to support informed financial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. Procure long-lead and specialized materials to support uninterrupted project progress. Evaluate construction methods and ensure best practices are being utilized to maximize safety, quality, and productivity. Anticipate and proactively manage risks related to delays, weather impacts, emergencies, and scope changes. Conduct regular jobsite visits to oversee production, reinforce safety protocols, and maintain quality standards. Evaluate and report on performance of internal staff and subcontractors, recognizing high performers and addressing underperformance. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively supporting new business development opportunities. Demonstrate how effective management of planning, cost, schedule, quality, contracts, and safety drives successful project outcomes. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Construction Management Proven experience processing RFIs, Change Orders, and Submittals Demonstrated ability to manage projects from both the field and office Strong experience developing, maintaining, and managing project schedules Experience in gas, water, sewer, and electric utility projects Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hamilton, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
