Superintendent Construction Superintendent
  • Multi-Family/Residential Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations for multi-family residential projects, including podium, high-rise, mid-rise, and stick-frame buildings.
The Superintendent will be responsible for day-to-day jobsite management, safety, schedule and quality control, subcontractor coordination, and communication with project stakeholders to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to specification. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily field operations across multi-family residential projects (podium, high-rise, mid-rise, stick-frame), ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. Develop, maintain, and drive the construction schedule; coordinate trades and adjust sequencing to meet milestones and minimize delays. Manage and supervise subcontractors and on-site labor, ensuring scope compliance, productivity, and proper workmanship. Enforce site safety programs and OSHA requirements; conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions to maintain a safe jobsite. Perform quality inspections at each phase of construction; enforce installation standards and resolve quality issues promptly. Coordinate material deliveries, storage, and on-site logistics to support uninterrupted workflow and protect materials from damage. Track field progress, prepare daily reports, and communicate status updates, risks, and recovery plans to Project Managers and stakeholders. Review plans, submittals, RFIs, and change orders in the field; ensure work aligns with contract documents and coordinate timely resolution of design/constructability issues. Assist with cost control by identifying inefficiencies, tracking jobsite labor and productivity, and supporting change order documentation. Mentor and develop on-site personnel; promote teamwork, clear communication, and a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of Superintendent experience on residential and multi-family projects; direct experience with podium, high-rise, mid-rise, and stick-frame construction preferred. Proven track record delivering projects on schedule and within budget, with strong references from general contractors or owners. Strong knowledge of construction methods, means and methods for multi-family/residential construction, and familiarity with local building codes and inspections. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings. OSHA 30-hour certification (or equivalent) and demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety. Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills; ability to coordinate multiple trades and stakeholders. Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office suite. Working knowledge of quality control processes and experience conducting punch lists and closeout procedures. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation; willingness to work flexible hours and travel to multiple job sites as required. Construction-related degree, technical diploma, or trade certification is preferred but not required.
